Ferry

There are hydrofoils or fast ferries from Tarifa ( www.frs-maroc.com ), Gibralter ( www.europasur.com ) and Algeciras to Tangier as well as normal ferries from Algeciras to Ceuta ( www.trasmediterranea.es ).

Train

The train station is in the Ville Nouvelle. There are frequent departures for Casablanca (4.25hrs), Rabat (3.5hrs) and Meknes (1hr)& Ouijda (6hrs) (via Taza (2hrs)) as well as direct rapide trains to Marrakech (8hrs)and Tangier (4 - 7hrs).

Bus

There are two main bus stations in Fez: the CTM bus station in the southern Ville Nouvelle and the main bus station northwest of Fes el Bali.

CTM have buses running to Casablanca via Rabat, Meknes, Marrakesh, Tangier, Al-Hoceima, Nador, Taza and Ouijda. There are international buses to both France and Spain three times a week.

Car

All the major car rental companies have bases in Fez and at the airport and it is easy to reach the car parks at the edge of the Medina and move on foot in the car-free zone from there.

Taxi

Grand Taxis will take you from Fes on to several other key locations in Morocco. At the train station and the bus station there are taxi ranks that serve Meknes and Rabat. Near to the bus station there is a taxi rank for those heading to Azrou and Ifrane. At the Bab Ftouh you will find taxis for Taza, at Bab Bou Jeloud for Moulay Yacoub The rank for Sefrou is to be found in the Ville Nouvelle, just below Place de la Resistance.
